Post a New Forum Topic Step by Step

This is a step by step instruction on how to post a new topic in a Forum.

1. Log in.

2. Click on "Forums" under "Comm" in the menu bar that is below the EAA 43 logo.

3. Click on the name of the Forum that you'd like to post a topic (message) in.

4. Click on the "Post new Forum topic" text under the Forum name.

5. In the "Subject" text field, type in a title for your post.

6. In the "Forums" selection box, select the Forum you want your post to appear in. This should already be set based on which Forum you were in when you clicked the "Post new Forum topic" link, but you can change it if you like.

7. In the "Body" text box, enter in whatever text you'd like for your topic (message).

8. (optional) Click on the "Enable rich-text" text below the text box to enable word processor like controls for formatting your text in the text box.

9. (optional) Click on the "File attachments" text to display the controls for uploading a file to attach to this topic (message). Click on the "Browse" button to search the files on your computer for the file to be uploaded. Click on the "Attach" button to actually upload the file to the web site.

10. (optional) In the "Groups" controls, select the Groups that you want this topic (message) to appear in. If you don't select any groups, the topic (message) will be available to anyone who views this web site. If you select one or more Groups, only the users who are in those groups will be able to view the topic (message). If you select one or more Groups and also select the Public checkbox, then it's like you didn't select any Groups, the message will be available to anyone who views this web site.

11. (optional) Click on the "Preview" button to see a preview of what your post will look like. You may then edit anything before saving the post.

12. Click on the "Save" button to save your topic (message) post and publish it to the Forum.
